Richard Harold Cones
August 4, 1929 ~ September 9, 2020 (age 91)

Obituary:
He wrote his obituary a month before his passing.

Richard Harold Cones, 91, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020.

Richard was born on August 4, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana at home to Chester W. Cones, Sr. and Marian E. (Sanders) Cones. He went and grew up in Greenwood, Indiana but graduated in 1947 from Whiteland High School he then went to go and enlist in the Navy and fought in the Korean War then came home and went to work building houses. He was a realtor and sold his houses as fast as he could build them. He then gave that business up and went to work for Yellow Freight Systems until he retired.

He met Mary Eva Hopwood, they were married and had 2 sons, Mike Cones and Jeremy Cones, both are ranked high. Mike is a technician at NSK near Franklin and Jeremy is a truck driver and delivers food to Wisconsin and various other places. Mike and Jeremy both live in Plainfield, Mike Married and has five children; Abby, Justin, Emma, Savannah and Katelyn. Jeremy married and has one child named Christopher, who is unmarried and living at home still with Jeremy.

Richard is survived by his children, Jeremy (Katrina Faith) Cones, of Plainfied, IN., Michael (Tiffany Logston) Cones, of Plainfield, IN., Samuel Cones, of Plainfield, IN.; his sister, Marian Green, of Indianapolis, IN.; his brothers, Chester W. (Marion) Cones Jr., of Casa Grande, AZ., Charles Cones, of California; 6 wonderful grandchildren; many loved ones and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert F. Cones.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Jessen Funeral Home - Whiteland Chapel, Visitation services are being held on Sunday, September 13th, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Jessen Funeral Home - Whiteland Chapel.

Arrangements are entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home - Whiteland Chapel.
